Sandy Hackett's Rat Pack Show

Comedian Buddy Hackett lives – at least for the first minute of Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack show.

“My father-in-law acts as the voice of God to start the production,’’ Lisa Dawn Miller said prior to the show’s engagement last year at Red Bank’s Count Basie Theatre. “He recorded the voiceover not long before he died (in 2003). He sends the guys in the Rat Pack back to do one more show in our contemporary times.’’

Like Hackett, the members of the Rat Pack – Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin and Joey Bishop – have all passed on. But Hackett’s son Sandy is keeping the act alive courtesy of the theatrical production that is returning to the area this weekend at Manasquan’s Algonquin Arts Theatre.
